Seniors housing

For seniors, New Denver has an independent living facility (Dr. Brouse Lodge) and a residential care facility (the Pavilion).

Dr. Brouse Lodge has ten apartments for independent, low-income seniors. Residents pay 30% of their income on rent with the provincial government covering the balance. Owned by BC Housing, operated by Arrow and Slocan Lakes Community Services.

The Pavilion is a 26-bed residential care home in the Slocan Community Health Centre. The facility has a Recreational Program Coordinator and a rehab assistant for walking, balance and strength classes. A physiotherapist and occupational therapist see residents regularly as needed.
